  • 8:30 PM, southwestern sky – Saturn above the horizon after sunset
  • 6 AM, eastern sky – Venus and Mars above the horizon before sunrise; Jupiter joins them in the second half of the month
  • 11 PM, southern sky – Aquarius constellation with the Water Jar asterism and the compact globular cluster Messier 2
  • 11 PM, southern sky – Capricornus constellation with the bright star Algedi (Algiedi) and the globular cluster Messier 30
  • total lunar eclipse visible on September 27 in North and South America and September 28 in Europe, Africa and Western Asia
